Caelan Brooks is a third-year physics student who will be graduating in Spring 2021 from Kutztown University. She conducts computation AMO research at Kutztown on the theoretical study of the quantum mechanical behavior of ultracold atoms confined to a toroidal trap with a lattice potential along the azimuth. Caelan is a recipient of an NSF REU Fellowship through the 2020 BU-PRO program. This summer, she has worked under Prof. Larkin to create a computational model simulating biofilm growth, specifically highlighting phenotypic pattern formation. Caelan plans to attend graduate school next year to pursue a PhD in physics and is interested in both theoretical biophysical research as well as AMO research.
